Electrosmog - general
Electrosmog has become a conventional term, which describes the consequences of radiation created by devices, which uses electricity and in it they create electromagnetic fields.
One has to differentiate between the low frequency and high-frequency radiation. Certainly, not all radiation has an equal or a damaging influence on human health and the environment.
The functioning of the human body, the same as in animals and plants, is regulated by transmission of electromagnetic signals and creating of your own electromagnetic fields, which are the key for connecting the inner organs and systems. However, the technologies with a high range of extraordinarily low to very high frequencies create technical electromagnetic field, which interfere with the healthy cell-communication and metabolical processes in people, but also in pets, like dogs and cats.
A long lasting exposure to technical electromagnetic radiation changes cell mechanisms, which leads to imbalance, and finally to illnesses.
Children and adolescents are, because of their bodies that are developing, and because of far thinner bones, particularly exposed and they absorb a far higher amount of radiation, which can lead to various health problems and serious arresting of healthy and proper development.
Power transmission lines, transformer stations and iron electric system are some of the sources of low-frequency electromagnetic fields.
House electric installations, extension cords, digital alarm clocks, TV sets or computers are but a part of technology which we daily use in our own households.
Permanent exposure to such low frequency radiation can cause various health problems, but with the help of an expert advice, their harmful influence can be simply removed or completely eliminated. This is the way that, as a rule a damaging influence is quickly and efficiently solved, for example, by drawing away an electric source or device from your body. A meter distance from a night lamp or a digital clock in most cases will sufficiently reduce the electric field, so that we can sleep peacefully and safely.
High-frequency inner or outer sources of electromagnetic radiation, like a mobile phone, WLAN router, repeater-transmitter, cordless DECT phone, are much more complicated in terms of solving this problem. We have been using them for the last fifteen years, but in the last couple of years this sort of radiation has grown enormously.
If we have in mind to what extent has the speed and the amount of cordless transmission of facts grown in the space where we live (WLAN router) or in the open (repeaters) and the number of people who use all these services, it becomes clear that the amount of the radiation has dramatically risen and how many people use all those services, it is getting clear that the amount of radiation has dramatically risen. That means a greater daylong exposure to radiation – at home, in the office or in the open. There is a growing number of “electro sensitive” people who suffer from various symptoms and illnesses that had been caused by the exposure to high concentration of electrosmog. Many countries have recognized this as one of the urgent problems of the contemporary civilization and they are increasingly active in trying to find a solution to this problem.
So called white zones are being established worldwide, without any pollution by electrosmog, however, they are very far away from urban areas, and people with more severe problems, such as refugees, go to live there.
In the world the tolerable radiation standards are set exclusively according to the results of researches on the heating of the tissue under the influence of short-term radiation (exposure). Therefore, a possible risk of long-term exposure to lower values has not been taken into consideration, even though hundreds of new studies point to the harmful effects of the long term exposure. Besides, each country sets its own standards, so the differences amongst the regulated values are big, which shows that in this field there is a lot of experimenting and researching.

|WHO & ICNIRP||9.000.000|
|Belgum (the upper part without Wallonia)||1.115.000|
|Wallonia (the southern region of Belgium)||24.000|
|Salzburg, region (regulation from 2002 open space)||10|

|Poor exposure||1 - 10|
|Strong exposure||10 - 1000|
|Extremely strong exposure||>1000|
In the European Council No. 1815 from 2011 in several places it is stressed that waiting for the additional unquestionable, scientific and clinical evidence may result in a huge economic and health damage for people, as was the case with asbestos and tobacco. In the resolution it is stated that it is extremely important immediately to lower the accepted values of radiation as a measure of prevention against serious health problems.
Particularly endangered group, according to the Resolution, are children and younger persons, and in researches related to this age group an alarming interconnectedness between using of a mobile phone and development of brain tumor has been proved.
The Resolution calls on the active preventive measures and informing about the dangers of thermal (short-term) and non-thermal (lower, but long-term) exposure to radiation, and especially undertaking the shielding measures for shielding of children, teenagers and young people in reproductive age.
